
INGREDIENTS:-
1kg chicken cut into small pieces.
2 onions (peeled & chopped)
1 large tomato (finely chopped)
2 tbsp ginger paste
2 tbsp garlic paste
1tbsp cumin powder
1tbsp coriander powder
1tsp black pepper powder
2tsp green chilli paste
1 tsp red chilli powder
2tsp turmeric powder
½ cup yogurt
2-3 bay leaves
1 tsp garam masala
½ cup mustard oil
Salt to taste
Method:-
• Roast the cumin powder and coriander powder together &keep aside.
• Place the chicken pieces in a large mixing bowl. Add half of the yogurt,green chilli paste,black pepper powder,salt and mustard oil to the chicken. Mix well.
• Keep this chicken in refrigerator for 2-3 hours.
• Heat up oil in a frying pan and add bay leaves.
• After 4-5 sec add chopped onions and fry till golden brown.
• Add the ginger garlic paste and fry for 2-3 min on medium heat.
• Now add the chopped tomatoes and cook until the the tomatoes form a smooth paste.
• In a small cereal bowl take the rest of the yogurt,previously roasted cumin n coriander powder,red chilli powder and mix well. Add little water if required.
• Add these spices in the frying pan and stir for another 2-3 min.
• Now add the chicken pieces. Add salt to taste. Cook in medium heat until most of the water evaporates.
• Now pour water as per your requirement to form the gravy. Bring to boil covering with a lid.
• Reduce heat and cook untill the chicken is done. Stir ocassionally.
• Sprinkle the garam masala powder just before switching off the burner.
• Serve with white rice.
